Alberta Jean Dettman

Alberta Jean Dettman, 69, of Central City, NE, died Tuesday, November 04, 2014, at Litzenberg Memorial County Hospital in Central City. Funeral services will be Saturday, November 8, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at Wagner Funeral Home in Central City with Vern Sawyers officiating. Burial will be in the Central City Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, November 7, from 5-7 P.M. at the funeral home. Alberta was born on May 26, 1945 in Central City to Harry and Marjorie (Sawyers) Dettman. She grew up in Central City and received her education there, graduating from Central City High School in 1963. She was employed by Night & Day Café, Carlson’s in Aurora, Bonnevilla, and retired from Atlantic Homes after 30 years. Alberta was an avid pool player, winning numerous pool tournaments. She was also a talented artist, with her drawing abilities and creative hobby projects. She enjoyed giving away most of the projects she crafted. Alberta will be remembered for her huge heart and kindness. She was willing to help anyone in need. She had a great pride of and love for her family and they always came first. She also had a great love for all animals. Alberta was a member of First Christian Church in Central City, and the Eagle’s Club, and was a former office holder. Survivors include her sister-in-law, Connie Dettman of Central City, NE, niece, Lori (Mark) Sautter, nephew, Randy (Tracie) Dettman, great nephews, Ryan (Whitney) Dettman, and Chase Dettman, great niece, Malorie Dettman and Nate Bloomquist, great, great nieces, Kaydence Dettman, and Kinzlie Bloomquist , and great, great nephew, Rutledge Dettman, her beloved dog, Nettie, and numerous cousins and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Roger Dettman. Memorials are suggested to the family and condolences may be sent to them at www.wagnerfuneral.com.
