Joyce Delight Harris, 84, of Central City, died Thursday, March 10, 2016 at her home. Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at 10 a.m. Solt-Wagner Funeral Home with Trent Wagner officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 15, 2016 from 5 to 7 p.m.at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Fullerton Cemetery immediately following the service. Memorials are suggested to donor’s choice and condolences may be sent to the family at www.soltwagnerfuneral.com. Joyce Delight was born on November 15, 1931 to Einer and Minnie (Dahl) Olsen. She grew up in the Marquette, Nebraska area and graduated from Marquette High School. On July 23, 1949, Joyce Delight was united in marriage to James (Jim) Harris. They made their home in Fullerton, Nebraska and then moved to Central City. Joyce Delight was a housewife of five children. She would also babysit for several children in her home. Jim died on March 31, 2005. Joyce Delight continued to live at home until the time of her death. Joyce Delight enjoyed bowling, gambling, shuffleboard, bingo, and watching all sports. Her favorite teams were the Chicago Bulls, Chicago Bears, and the Chicago Cubs. She also, of course, loved Nebraska Cornhusker Football. She was also the GREATEST Elvis fan ever! She loved baking for her family and friends. Joyce Delight enjoyed going to family reunions and picnics. Her greatest love was spending time with her family and her cat “Booty”. Joyce Delight is survived by her children; Jody and Mike Cunningham and Mike Harris of Central City, NE, Dave and Carrie Harris of Lincoln, NE, Deb and Rich Garcia of Kansas City, MO; 8 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren and one on the way; a brother- Dorlan Olsen of North Platte, NE. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband- Jim; son- Dale Harris; one great grandson- Jayden Mason-Whitebull; two grandsons- Richard Garcia and Christopher Garcia; three sisters- Muriel Amick, Athens Crawford, and Blossom Olsen.
