Kenneth D. Luebbe

Kenneth D. Luebbe, 81, of Central City, died on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at the Central City Care Center. Visitation will be on Thursday, April 13th from 5-7 p.m. at Solt-Wagner Funeral Home in Central City. The family will then hold private graveside services. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.soltwagnerfuneral.com. Kenneth D. Luebbe was born on January 19, 1936 to Lawrence and Irene (Gillham) Luebbe at their home in Archer. Ken was born and raised in the Archer area, and graduated from Archer High School in 1954. On November 7, 1954 Kenneth D. and Dorine “Dee” Butt were united in marriage. Following their marriage, Ken began farming and would remain a farmer in the Central City and Archer area until his retirement in 2005. Ken was also a seed salesman for Garst Seeds, then eventually selling seed for Pioneer. Due to health reasons, Ken moved to Central City Care Center in 2009. Ken always had a strong passion for farming, but he was also an avid traveler, he especially liked going to Johnson Lake and boating. He loved going to Tractor pulls, playing the slot machines, and going to the horse races, but the most important thing in his life was spending time with his family. Those left to cherish his memory are: his wife; Dee of Central City, his son; Rex (Leanne) Luebbe of Central City, his daughter; Rhonda (Mike) Patterson of Fort Worth, TX, his daughter-in-law; Amy Luebbe-Kyes of Central City, his son-in-law; Ryan Couse of Central City, his siblings; Roger (Barb) Luebbe of Grand Island, Pat Weller of Palmer, brother-in-law; Bill Grigsby of Aurora, Sisters-in-law; Alice Butt of Central City, Marilyn Butt of Central City, Nadine (Dale) Hilderbrand of Central City, his grandchildren; Noah (Adriane) Luebbe, Alex (Tommy) Sciuga, Erin (Travis) Wilson, Shelby (Chase) Bearden, Andrew (Jackie) Luebbe, Taylor Luebbe, Carly (Carson) Arnett, and Kendee Couse, 9 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceeded in death by his parents; his children; Rita Crouse and Russ Luebbe, his brothers; Richard Luebbe and Bill Luebbe, his brothers-in-law; Merle Weller, Richard Butt, and Roger Butt and his sister-in-law; Ernie Grigsby.
