Marjorie "Marge" Ruth Kelley

Marjorie R. “Marge” Kelley, 73, of Central City, died on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at CHI Saint Francis Medical Center in Grand Island. Memorial services will be on Monday, September 19, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Solt-Wagner Funeral Home in Central City with Rev. Jim Garfield officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday, September 18th from 5-7 p.m. at Solt-Wagner Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to Grand Island - Tabitha Health Care Services. Condolences may be sent to family at www.soltwagnerfuneral.com. Marjorie Ruth was born on October 16, 1942 to Bob and Mary (McNinch) Rolles in Dillon, Montana. Marge grew up in Montana and graduated from Butte High School in 1960. Following her graduation Marge married Ken Fitzgerald. After their marriage, Marge continued living in Montana, and worked as a secretary for the University of Montana in Missoula. Following the ending of her marriage to Ken in 1971, Marge and her children moved to Central City, where she went to work at Bethesda. She married Dennis Kelley shortly before to moving to Nebraska and they would remain married until his death in 1989. In 1976, Dennis and Marge purchased The Independent Club in town. Marge owned and ran The Independent Club for almost 40 years. Her 40th year of owning it would be in October of this year and the 90th anniversary of it first opening its doors would be next year in October. She was really looking forward to those two milestones. In 1990 Marge met Vincent Gergen and they would remain together until his death in 2010. Marge always loved working at The Independent Club, she was always there for anyone who needed an ear, and especially loved to meet new people. Some of her other enjoyments were bowling, baseball, football, boxing, playing pool, playing scratch cards, and on Sundays going to the casinos near Omaha. She was also a member of the Eagle’s Club in Central City. Her two greatest loves were definitely for her family and her work. Those left to cherish her memory are her children; Deb Prososki of Casa Grande, AZ and William P. Fitzgerald of Central City; her brother – Frank (Nancy) Rolles of Lakewood, CA; her brothers and sisters-in-law – Joann Rolles of Texas, Glen Kelley of Central City, Bonnie Friedrichsen of Palmer, Joan Harless of Polk, Kenny Kelley of CA, and Janie Kelley of Central City; her grandchildren – Crystal Deeds of Chandler, AZ, Dylan Deeds of Casa Grande, AZ, Morgan Hatten of Casa Grande, AZ and Ashley Teahon of Lincoln and 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by; her husband Dennis, significant other – Vincent Gergen; her son – James Richard Fitzgerald, and two brothers-in-law – Jim Rolles and Orville Rolles and grandson Thomas James Deeds.
