Yolanda Kay Rathman

Yolanda K. Rathman, 82, of Grand Island, died on Friday, October 22, 2021 at Tiffany Square in Grand Island. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 29, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Grand Island with Father Joseph Broudou officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday, October 28th from 5-7 p.m. at Apfel Funeral Home in Grand Island. Interment will be held at Westlawn Cemetery in Grand Island. Solt-Wagner Funeral Home in Central City will be assisting the family. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Merrick County Museum or St. Mary’s Cathedral. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.soltwagnerfuneral.com. Yolanda Kay was born on July 28, 1939 to Hans and Lola (Hartman) Husman in Grand Island. She grew up in the Chapman area, and graduated from Chapman High School in 1957. On January 7, 1961 she was united in marriage to Tom W. Rathman at Blessed Sacrament Church in Grand Island. The couple made their home in Grand Island. Yolanda worked as a sales clerk at Fashion City in Grand Island. She was also a claims representative at Tri-City Claims, and as a manager and teller for Fonner Park. She enjoyed puzzles, working at Fonner Park, and loved cardinals. She was also an avid Husker sports fan, especially volleyball and football. Her greatest love was getting to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Yolanda was a member of St. Mary’s Cathedral in Grand Island. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband; Tom of Grand Island, her children; Debra Webster of Lincoln, Tom (Holly) Rathman of Redwood Shores, CA, Jodi (Kevin) Gaden of Chatham, IL, and Steve (Ann) Rathman of Plattsmouth, her sister; Sharon Ryba of Lincoln, her grandchildren; Nicole (Chris) Balestrieri, Ali (Dante) Lanza, Samantha Rathman, Tyler Webster, Alex Webster, Kayla Gaden, Clark Gaden, Kali Gaden, Matthew Rathman, Katie Rathman, and Andrew Rathman, and 2 great-grandchildren- Olivia Gaden and Dean Rathman Lanza. She was preceded in death by her father; Hans Husman, her mother; Lola McLean, her step-father; Glen McLean, her bother; Larry Husman, sister-in-law; JoAnn Husman, brothers-in-law- Martin Ryba, Donald Rathman, and Michael Rathman; In laws- Walt (Norma) Rathman
