Blanche “Sal”Lucile Shively, 96, died Friday, August 25, 2017 at Litzenberg Memorial County, LTC in Central City. Funeral services will be Monday, August 28, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Solt-Wagner Funeral Home with Dorothy Molczyk officiating. Visitation will be Monday, August 28, 2017 from 1 p.m. until service time. Burial will be in the Bureau Cemetery by Pierce Chapel. Blanche was born on March 6, 1921 to Walter and Marie (Dickman) Church in Clarks, Nebraska. She attended Pleasant Hill and Clarks schools. Blanche married Howard William Shively on October 19, 1941 in Central City, Nebraska. The couple lived all of their life in Clarks and Central City. They farmed near Genoa for a short time and then farmed near Central City. Blanche worked in various motels and cafes in the Central City area. Blanche was a member of the United Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening, crafts, and decorating for the holidays. She also helped her Mom raise her smaller sisters and brothers. Her mom taught her how to cook and sew. She is survived by two grandsons- Steve Shively and special friend Marilyn Catlett of Central City, NE; and Paul and Carol Shively of Central City, NE; four great granddaughters and five great great granddaughters; seven sisters- Donna Reisner of Central City, NE; Sharon and Art Lambert of York,NE; Twila Mangus of York, NE; Erma Cornwell of York, NE; Alice and Denny Faeh of Central City, NE; Faye Gregor of Central City, NE; Bernice Plumbtree of Fullerton, NE; one brother in law- Arnold and Dottie Shively of Tacoma, WA; one daughter in law – Patricia Shively of Central City, NE. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband- Howard; one son- Lyle Shively; one sister- Betty Gulbrandson; seven brothers- Milford, Arnold, Jack, Ron, Harold, Forrest, and Dean Church; one infant daughter – Lyla Ruth; granddaughter in law- Pam Shively.
