Eldon grew up attending Pleasant Hill School until the 6th grade, when the family moved to Clarks and he then attended Clarks Public Schools. Following his schooling Eldon remained in the Clarks area, where he began farming with his father. Eldon married Joann Joyce Janulewicz on August 25, 1956 at St. Josephat Catholic Church in Loup City. They made their home in the Clarks area their entire married life, where Eldon would farm until his health no longer allowed him to. He was a member of the St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Clarks. Eldon attained his pilot’s license, and greatly enjoyed getting to fly his own plane. He loved polka music and they attended many Polka Fests in several states, and made many lifelong friends along the way. His first love was farming, but he also enjoyed his lawn and flowers. He loved everything about getting to farm his ground, along with raising hogs and cattle with his sons, but his greatest love was for his family, and especially getting to spend time with his grand children and great-grandchildren. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife – Joann of Central City, his children – Rick Dubas and special friend Betty LeFevre of Clarks, Tim Dubas of Central City, Diane Vassar of Grand Island, Nancy Van Dyke of Columbus, Sandra (Keith) Backer of Columbus, and Robert (Emily) Dubas of Clarks; his sister – Beata Nabity of Grand Island; Sister-in-law – Dorothy Dubas of Omaha; Brother-in-law – Jim Janulewicz of Clarks; Sister-in-law – Delores Michalek of Hastings; his grandchildren – Jeremy (Megan) Dubas, Jason (Fiance Angela Muehle) Dubas, Samantha (Adam) Bender, Jesse (Fiance Amanda Hussein) Dubas, Ashley (Sean) Fritz, Ryan Bronson, Jamie Vassar, Rachel Bronson, Jacey Dubas, Caleb Dubas, and Ellie Dubas; and great-grandchildren – Kenzie Dubas, Camryn Bender, Brooklyn Bender, Harrison Dubas, Hayes Dubas, and a great-granddaughter due in August. He was preceded in death by his parents; Son – Edward Dubas; Brothers – Conrad Dubas and Bernard Dubas; Sister – Ruth Kula; Brothers-in-law – Ray Kula, Alfred Nabity, and Ron Michalek; Sisters-in-law – Margaret Dubas and Irma Janulewicz and Father-in-law and Mother-in-law - Anton and Barbara Janulewicz.
