Jeanette E. Wiliams, 78, of Central City, died at her home, surrounded by her family on Tuesday, April 6, 2021. Memorial services will be held on Friday, April 9, 2021 at 1 p.m. at Solt-Wagner Funeral Home in Central City with Pastor Doug McHargue officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, at Solt-Wagner Funeral Home from 11 a.m. until service time. Memorials are suggested either to the family or Merrick County Ag Society. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.soltwagnerfuneral.com. Jeanette was born on August 29, 1942 in Central City, Nebraska to Ivan and Elizabeth (Niemoth) Nelson. She was baptized and confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church in Central City. Jeanette attended country school District 12 until 8th grade and graduated from Central City High School in 1961. She then found Jim who was working at a filling station while she was working at the Dairy Queen. Jim and Jeanette married, in a blizzard, on March 18, 1962. Together they made a homestead on the Nelson Family Farm with milk cows, stock cows, and chickens. To this union three children were born: Tim, Shari, and Steve. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School. She was a Merrick County Extension Club member. Jeanette was a homemaker all of her life. She loved to babysit her grandchildren, make chocolate chip cookies, cinnamon rolls and take the grandkids to Dairy Queen for a treat. She enjoyed playing farkle and “shooting the moon” in pitch. She is survived by her loving family: husband, Jim Williams of Central City; children, Tim and Tammy Williams; Shari and Bill Meyer all of Central City; and Steve and Tami Williams of Grand Island. Eight grandchildren: Dustin and Cherisse Williams, Logan and Shawnee Williams, Sydney Williams, Cody Meyer, Kayla and Drew Dobson, Quinnton, Colin, Kristi Williams, along with 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Ivan and Elizabeth Nelson and brother Gordon Nelson.
