Larry S. Krance

November 29, 1937 - February 5, 2017

Larry S. Krance, 79, of Central City, died on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at Litzenberg Memorial County Hospital in Central City. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Central City with Monsignor Newman officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 7th from 5-7 p.m. with a 7 p.m. Vigil Service at St. Michael’s Catholic Church. Interment will be at the Central City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.soltwagnerfuneral.com. Larry was born on November 29, 1937 to Lawrence and Mae (Kowalewski) Krance in rural Howard County. Larry grew up in Howard County until the 6th grade when his family moved to Central City. He then attended Central City public schools graduating from Central City High School in 1957. Following graduation he began working for Howard and Herb Stander. He then was able to start his own farming and cattle operation, which he continued to operate until his semi-retirement in 2012. On May 31, 1958 Larry married Bernadine “Berdie” Moraczewski in Elba, Nebraska. They made their home in rural Merrick County until moving into Central City in 2011. Larry was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Central City. He was also a Eucharistic Minister. He loved his work, especially his cattle. He spent much of his time with his cattle, and especially enjoyed going to cattle sales and spending time at the feedlot. He also had a special interest in the history of the Omaha Stockyards. His greatest love was for his wife, children, and grandchildren. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife; his children - Barbara (Jeff) Miller of Grand Island, Lisa (Chuck) Cantrell of St. Paul, Chuck (Mandy) Krance of Central City, Amy (David Wendt) Krance-Wendt of Murdock, Jill (Rob) Osantowski of Omaha, and Carla Jo Luebbe of Columbus; his brother – Richard Krance of Archer; his sister – Karen Davison of Coconut Creek, FL; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter – Cynthia Krance; his sister – Elaine Boelts; and infant sister – LeeAnn Krance.
