Marian M. Garrett, 71, of Central City, died Monday, August 04, 2014 at her home near Central City, Nebraska. Memorial services will be Thursday, August 7, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Fairview United Methodist Church near Central City with Pastor Janet Burgel officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 6, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wagner Funeral Home in Central City. Inurnment will be in the Bureau Cemetery by Pierce Chapel. Memorials are suggested to Fairview United Methodist Church or Central City Senior Center. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.wagnerfuneral.com. Marian was born on October 26, 1942 in Patton, PA to Ralph and Helen (Stevens) Lenhart. She grew up in Central Square, NY and graduated there. She was united in marriage to Wayne Collins and the couple lived in Brewerton, NY and then in Cleveland, OH. On August 9, 2008, Marian married Melvin Garrett and the couple lived on a farm North and West of Central City. Marian enjoyed playing cards such as Pinochle, Pitch, and Poker. She liked to go bowling, fishing, camping, and traveling. Some of the traveling expeditions included Vegas; Branson; Wisconsin Dells (House on the Rocks); Black Hills; Yellowstone; Hawaii; and Florida. She enjoyed white water rafting, zip lining, and going on cruises. She also liked hummingbirds and monarch butterflies. She is survived by her husband Melvin Garrett of Central City, NE, one daughter – Kay Neubert of Willoughby, OH, one granddaughter – Angela and (Travis) Johnson of Eastlake, OH; two brothers- Howard and (Darlene) Lenhart of Central City, NE; and Robert and (Terri) Lenhart of Veneta, OR; one uncle- Raymond Stevens of Syracuse, NY; and several step- children, step- grandchildren and step- great grandchildren. Marian was preceded in death by her parents; her son, William Collins; one brother – Ronald Lenhart; and one sister, Louise Hanno.
