Orville Dale Blauhorn

October 28, 1930 - May 29, 2022

Orville Dale Blauhorn, 91, of Palmer, died Sunday, May 29, 2022 at CHI St. Francis Hospital in Grand Island. Funeral services will be Thursday, June 2, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Archer Zion United Methodist Church with Pastor Gordon Paulsen officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 1, 2022 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Archer Evangelical Community Cemetery. Orville was born on October 28, 1930 to William and Anna (Otto) Blauhorn near Palmer, Nebraska. He attended Archer schools, graduating from Archer High School in 1948. He was drafted into the United States Army, during the Korean War. Upon returning from the service he joined his brother; Ervin and Elmer to continue farming in the Archer- Palmer area. He married Barbara Jean Schutt on January 6, 1957, at the Archer Zion United Methodist Church. Orville enjoyed farming, livestock, and trucking. At retirement he still wanted to help with the harvest, his passion was running the Combine. Orville served on the following boards: Palmer Public Schools, Archer Cooperative Credit Union Bank, and the Archer Zion United Methodist Church Renovation Board. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 120 of Palmer and the Archer Zion United Methodist Church. Orville enjoyed being social by drinking coffee with the guys in the community and spending time with his family Orville is survived by his wife- Barbara, sons - Terry (Nancy) Blauhorn of Palmer, NE; Bill (Sandra) Blauhorn of Palmer, NE; and daughter- Susan (John) Bulling of Lincoln, NE; sister- Edna Shull of Central City, NE; nine grandchildren; Brian, Brad, Brady, Heather, Joshua, James, Amanda, Jeana, Daniel and 18 great-grandchildren; Faith, Blaze, Cruz, Reese, Ty, Noah, Peyton, Braxton, Harper, Maya, Addison, Avery, Claire Blauhorn, Jacob, Anna Marie, Kadavy, Ciptyn Nelson, Colton and Henry Bulling. He was preceded in death by his parents; William and Anna, two infant sisters; two brothers- Ervin and Elmer; three sisters- Mildred Scarborough, Dorothy Scharvin, Ina Jean Giles, and daughter in law Valda Blauhorn.
