Robert H. Schlondorf, 85, of Clarks, died on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at Litzenberg Memorial Long Term Care in Central City. Funeral services will be on Monday, October 16, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at Solt-Wagner Funeral Home in Central City with Pastor Mark Hartley officiating. Visitation will be on Monday, October 16th from 9:30 a.m. until service time. Interment will be at the Clarks Cemetery immediately following the funeral service. Robert was born on September 29, 1932 to Henry and Margaret (Schleiger) Schlondorf in Stromsburg. Robert grew up in the Clarks area, attending country school in rural Clarks, and graduating from Clarks High School. Following graduation Robert remained in the Clarks area, and farmed near there for many years, as well as selling Pioneer Seed. Robert married Vernette Kingsley on June 2, 1957 in Clarks. Robert was a member of the United Methodist Church in Clarks and the Masonic Lodge – Solar Lodge No. 134 in Clarks. He enjoyed calf-roping in his younger years, and always maintained an interest in horses. He was a 4-H Leader and enjoyed a lifetime of hunting and fishing as well as attending country music concerts. Those left to cherish his memory are his children; Michael Schlondorf of Clarks, Jean (Gary) Nelson of Newman Grove, Jerry Schlondorf of Lincoln, and Sue (Dave) Ahmann of Scottsdale, AZ; 7 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, and three nephews; Gary Altstadt, David Shavlik, and Dennis Shavlik. He was preceded in death by his wife; Vernette, his mother; Margaret, father; Henry, son; Jon, and one brother; Don.
