Sharon L. Nolte

Sharon L. Nolte, 67, of Hastings, Nebraska died Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Mary Lanning Hospital in Hastings after a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will be Monday, March 20, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Hastings with Father Michael Houlihan officiating. Visitation will be Monday, March 20, 2017 from 9:30 a.m. to service time. Burial will be in the Parkview Cemetery immediately following the funeral service. Sharon was born on August 1, 1949 to Edwin and Dorothy (Zajicek) Klanecky in Sargent, Nebrasaka.. She grew up in Norman, Nebraska. She attended and graduated from Minden High School. She then went to Beauty School and worked in Grand Island as a Beautician. She married Harlan Nolte on May 25, 1974 in Kenesaw, Nebraska. After their marriage, Sharon went to work as a housekeeper for several families in Kenesaw. Following Harlan’s death in 1988, she then worked in housekeeping at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Hastings, until she was forced to retire due to health problems. Sharon was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Hastings, Nebraska. She helped with Rosaries regularly. Sharon was a person that took great pride in helping others. She always offered words of encouragement. This caring way led people to appreciate Sharon even more than she knew. Sharon was a strong person. She helped her parents in Hastings with everyday chores including cleaning and yard work. Sharon’s greatest joy was her family. Espcially her son’s family and her grandsons- Ethan, Jaden, and Kason. Sharon is survived by one son- Justin (Amber) Nolte of Lincoln, NE; her mother – Dorothy Klanecky of Hastings, NE; one sister – Shirley (Don) Farlee of Grand Island, NE; three grandsons – Ethan, Jaden, and Kason Nolte of Lincoln, NE; a niece – Kim (Trent) Wagner of Central City, NE; two nephews- Todd (Nicole) Farlee of Baku; Craig (Amy) Farlee of Kearney, NE. She was preceded in death by her husband –Harland, her father- Edwin Klanecky.
