Sheila Lorraine Gulbrandson Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Sheila Lorraine (Carlson) Gulbrandson, 48, lost her battle with cancer at Methodist Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska on Saturday, October 10, 2015. Graveside services will be at 2 P.M. Thursday, October 15, 2015 at Swede Plain Cemetery with Pastor Willis Pauls officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 14, 2015 from 6 to 8 P.M. at Solt-Wagner Funeral Home (South Location). Burial will be in the Swede Plain Cemetery near Polk, Nebraska. Memorials are suggested to the family and condolences may be sent to the family at www.soltwagnerfuneral.com. Sheila was born on October 28, 1966 to Gordon A. and Alice (Johnson) Carlson in Osceola, Nebraska. She grew up on the farm between Polk and Stromsburg. She attended Polk Public School and graduated in 1985. Sheila married Larry Gulbrandson on August 29, 1987 in the Swede Plain Methodist Church. The couple lived on the Carlson family farm near Polk. To this union, a son was born - Gordon Ray Gulbrandson. Sheila was baptized in the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Osceola, Nebraska. She attended Swede Plain Church near Polk until its closing. She then continued her Bible learning at the Evangelical Free Church of Polk, Nebraska. Sheila and the entire family had a love of animals. Sheila bred and raised AKC German Shepherd dogs for 15 years. She also farmed and raised cattle with her father. She belonged to the Harness Hustlers Driving Club. Her greatest pleasure was watching her son drive draft horses. She also loved to watch her nieces and nephews show horses, cattle, and Llamas. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, and best friend to many. She is survived by her husband - Larry of Polk, NE; son - Gordon Gulbrandson of Polk, NE; two sisters- Twyla Carlson of Polk, NE; and Lisa and Mike Howell of Polk,NE; nieces and nephews - Alyse Carlson of Polk, NE; and Gordona, Allie, and Colin Howell of Polk, NE; and Tanner Howell of Aurora, NE; brother in laws- Leland and Judy Gulbrandson (Alissa, Justin, and Ashley) of Lincoln, NE; Ted and Pam Gulbrandson (Kory, Brett, and Troy) of York, NE; Tim Gulbrandson (Raina, Amanda and Timothy) of Lincoln, NE; Dudley and Michelle Gulbrandson (Cody, Brianna, Crissa) of Central City; Amy and Chad Gulbrandson; aunt - Betsy Johnson of Lincoln, NE; and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother in law – Lavern Gulbrandson.
