Delores C. Grosshans

Delores C. Grosshans, 80, of Central City, died Saturday, August 10, 2013 at Litzenberg Memorial County Hospital in Central City. Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at the United Presbyterian Church in Central City with Rev. Doug McHargue officiating. Visitation will be Monday, August 12, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Wagner Funeral Home in Central City. Burial will be in the Central City Cemetery. Dee was born on February 21, 1933 in Grand Island, Nebraska to Richard and Minnie C. (Schroeder) Bergholz. She grew up in Grand Island, NE and received her education in Grand Island Public Schools. She was united in marriage to Paul J. Grosshans on June 27, 1954 at the St. Paul’s English Lutheran Church in Grand Island, NE. The couple lived in Central City where she and Paul were business owners of Grosshans Case IH Dealerships in Central City and Aurora. She was a member of United Presbyterian Church in Central City, NE. She taught Sunday school and served as church secretary for many years. She was a 50 year member of P.E.O. Chapter AB and served as past President. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and she served on the Merrick County election board. She devoted her life to her family and the family business. She enjoyed Husker Football, birthday club, and various bridge clubs. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Kent and Jeanne Grosshans of Central City, NE; and Kris and Barbara Grosshans of Clarendon Hills, IL, and a daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Jack Lyons of Marquette, NE. Dee had eight grandchildren, Katie (Dustin “Bubba”) Penas of Omaha, NE; Lisa (Curt) Patrick of Omaha, NE; Elliot Grosshans of Central City, NE; Molly Lyons of Kearney, NE; Kenzie Lyons of Lincoln, NE; and Kerry, Clark, and Cole Grosshans all of Clarendon Hills, IL, and three great-grandchildren, Beau Penas, Claire Patrick and Paityn Patrick all of Omaha, NE. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Paul Grosshans on January 18, 2009, and her brothers, Harry, Don, Ray, and Dick Bergholz.
