Ronald R. Grigsby

Ronald R. Grigsby, 55, of Central City, NE died Sunday, April 14, 2013, at Litzenberg Memorial County Hospital in Central City. Funeral services will be Friday, April 19, 2013, at 10:30 A.M. at United Methodist Church in Central City with Reverend Paul Blanchard officiating. The family requests casual attire. Burial will be in the Central City Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, April 18, from 5-8 P.M. at Wagner Funeral Home in Central City. Ron was born on June 10, 1957 in Aurora, NE, to Robert L. and Raymona (Page) Grigsby. He grew up in Central City and received his education there, graduating from Central City High School in 1975. He was united in marriage to Marla K. Johnson on April 14, 1979 in Central City, NE. Two sons were blessed to this marriage, Joe and Zachary. The couple later divorced. Ron owned and operated Grigsby Custom Excavation and farmed. He worked hard and played hard. He loved his children and grandchildren, and the Platte River, near which he made his home. Ron was a member and founder of River Rats Association. He was also a member of the Eagles Club, Sons of American Legion in Central City, and a lifetime member of Airboaters Association. He requested to have his brother Rick sing “The Chair” at his funeral. Survivors include his two sons, Joseph Grigsby and special friend, Jamie Harlow, of Hastings, NE; and Zachary Grigsby of Central City, NE, two grandsons, Evan Grigsby of Grand Island, NE; and Jace Hajny of Glenvil, NE, fiancé – Cindy Hines of Central City, NE; Marla Johnson - mother of Joe and Zachary Grigsby; brother and sister-in-law – Rick and Rita Grigsby of Central City, NE; Uncles – Bill Grigsby of Aurora, NE and Paul and Charlene Page of Broken Bow, NE; Dave Hines of California; Godchild – Taylor Lewis of Central City, NE; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends; dogs – Zoey, Allie, and Reba. Preceded in death by his parents; one brother- Steven Grigsby; Grandparents – Ray and Helen Grigsby and Raymond and Lucille Page; three dogs – Trinity, Jesse, and Lexi.
